ILLYRIA, HAMBURG The Albanian Student Union "Illyria" was founded on March 18, 1997 from the Albanian students of different universities in Hamburg. Illyria supports the albanian students (from Albania, Kosova and Macedonia) during their academic activity with information and consultation (or advice). Some of the most important activities organised from Illyria since 1997 are the lecture and discussion with prof. Noel Malcolm (Oxford University) about Kosova's future, the lecture and discussion with prof. Bernd Fisher (Indiana Perdue University) about the german occupation in Albania during the World War II, the lecture and discussion with the well-known Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, the meeting and discussion with the well-known publicist Fatos Lubonja etc. Two members of Illyria represent since July 2002 the foreign students (actually 4600) in the Student Government of the Hamburg University (AStA).
